The Literary Encounter-to-Transformation Pathway introduced in this paper has since been developed further in Working Paper No. 2, From Literary Encounter to Human Transformation: A Framework for Understanding How Literature Shapes Human Development.
In WP1, the framework was presented as an initial, simplified sequence—a provisional representation of the relationship between literary engagement and human development. WP2 develops this initial formulation into a more fully interconnected and non-linear model.
The original proposition remains intact. The dimensions of the pathway may operate in different orders, overlap, reinforce or interrupt one another, recur across contexts, or not lead to transformation at all. The pathway is therefore a framework for inquiry, not a formula for transformation.
